Honestly, I’m the type of person who overthinks a lot. When too many things pile up at once like assignments, classes or life problems, my head just feels messy and overwhelming. That’s usually when I end up opening my game.
For me, gaming is not just “playing games”. It feels like an escape button. When I’m in a game, I don’t think about deadlines, group assignments, or all the stress in real life. For a while, I can just focus on something I actually enjoy.
I like gaming because it helps me release stress without me even realizing it. Instead of keeping everything in my head, I can let it out through playing. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose, but either way, I feel lighter after that. It’s like my mind gets a small break.
I also notice that gaming helps me calm down. When real life feels too heavy, games give me a chance to reset my thoughts. It’s not about escaping reality completely, but more like taking a short break so I don’t feel too drained.
Another reason I enjoy gaming is because it gives me small feelings of achievement. Even little wins in a game can make me feel better. And when life feels a bit messy, those small moments actually matter more than people think.
When I play with friends, it becomes even better. We laugh, talk, and just enjoy the moment together. That’s the part I like the most because not just the game itself, but the connection and fun we share while playing.
I’m actually really bad at Valorant, but my friends still willingly play with me. They say my reactions when playing are funny, so I guess I accidentally became the “entertainment” in the team LMAO. Even when I mess up, we just end up laughing instead of getting mad. That makes the game even more fun for me.
So yeah, maybe some people see gaming as a waste of time, but for me, it actually helps me stay sane. It’s my way of coping when life gets too overwhelming.
