Into The New World by Girls' Generation

 by Yasmin!

Ever since I heard this song on TikTok, it has become my current obsession. Why is it? Well, this song inspired young people, regardless of which generation they belong to.

Girls' Generation released this song in 2007, but it still has an impact on young people, especially those who want to try something new.  Although it was originally introduced as a debut track, it has grown into one of the most influential and beloved songs in K-pop history.

From what I've seen, K-pop survival shows in South Korea often use this song as a vocal test because it has a well-balanced range of high and low notes. Personally, the chorus gives me a sense of familiarity, thanks to its memorable and nostalgic melody. It sounded a bit like an OST of Doraemon's movie.

I love the kind of song that gives me goosebumps. Because I know, the emotions hit deep in my heart even before I read the translation lyrics or search for the meaning.

I will recommend this song to anyone who reads this!

Recap: Touring My Dad's Workplace

 by Yasmin!

In early June 2024, my dad invited my older sister, my younger brother, and me to his workplace program called Bring Your Child To Work. It was an opportunity for your children to learn about parents' jobs and discover that opportunities exist everywhere. My dad works at TM R&D (Research and Development) in Cyberjaya as a Senior Electrical Technician. He works on WI-FI, Internet and more.

At first, we were given breakfast in the cafeteria before we got to the event hall to wear a wristband based on the age group, and we were given a speech from the C.E.O of TM R&D before we started our tour of the building.

Our first lesson was about the invention of a safety helmet. In the modern era, TM invented the safety helmet with a camera on the right side so that whenever the engineers or site managers go to the site field, it can be recorded for reporting and research purposes. Also, they added a GPS to the TM pickup truck to prevent getting stolen or anything bad from happening.

(This is me, trying the safety helmet.)

After that, we go to the second floor, which is the software engineers' office floor. This time, we got to learn their hard work of coding, and we got to interview the software engineers. They mentioned that coding was challenging in the beginning, but they gradually got used to it. They even joked about getting their head bald because of the coding LOL.

Next, we followed our tour guide to the technician's lab, where my dad works. In the lab, we saw so many cables, fibre optic and modems. Also, the technicians explained how WI-FI works, and I asked a question. Maybe my question sounded like this: "How do we know how far WI-FI range can go?" I thought so since I didn't remember much, but I did remember asking about the Wi-Fi's range.

After we finished touring the upper floor, we went back downstairs to the event hall to watch a presentation by someone from the IT field. She gave a presentation about web design, and we completed a quiz she had made on Kahoot. It was all fun because we got to learn a lot from the people in those fields.

At that time, I hadn't chosen my career path yet, so I thought about it. For sure, there is a reason I'm in the communication path. I always thought of choosing something closer to my family, my comfort zone, but being in the communication field is far from it. I'm grateful, though. I understand and am learning to better analyse human interactions and the ways imperfect beings interact with one another.

Why My Favourite Food Is Samyang 2x Spicy

 By Barisyia

Everyone has a favourite food that they can never get tired of. Some people love pizza, burgers, or fried chicken. For me, my favourite food has always been Samyang 2x Spicy noodles.

I first started eating Samyang in 2020. At that time, I only ate the original flavour. Like most people, I thought it was incredibly spicy when I first tried it. However, the more I ate it, the more my tolerance for spicy food increased. Eventually, the original flavour no longer felt spicy to me.

That was when I decided to try Samyang 2x Spicy.

Surprisingly, it did not affect me the way it affected other people. While many people struggle to finish one packet, I found it to be just the right amount of spiciness. Since then, Samyang 2x Spicy has become my favourite food.

One of the reasons I love it so much is because of its flavour. It is not just spicy; it has a rich and satisfying taste that makes me want to eat it again and again. I also enjoy the thick noodle texture, which makes it more filling and enjoyable compared to ordinary instant noodles.

I usually eat it with a fried egg, although sometimes I eat it by itself. Either way, it always tastes good to me.

What makes my love for Samyang even funnier is that my mouth can handle the spice, but my stomach cannot. Almost every time I eat it, my stomach immediately reminds me that I have made a terrible decision. Unfortunately, this has never stopped me from eating it again.

In fact, I still add extra chilli powder even when I am already eating Samyang 2x Spicy. To most people, that probably sounds insane. To me, it just makes the experience better.

Another reason why Samyang is special to me is because it has become my comfort food. Whenever I feel extremely sad, stressed, or heartbroken, I tend to lose my appetite. During those moments, Samyang is usually one of the few foods that can make me want to eat again.

It may sound strange, but the spicy flavour somehow brings back my appetite and makes me feel better, even if only for a little while. While some people turn to ice cream or chocolate when they are sad, I turn to Samyang 2x Spicy.

Over the years, I have eaten it countless times. There was even a period when I ate it twice a week. Nowadays, I only eat it occasionally, usually once every couple of months. However, no matter how much time passes, it remains my favourite food.

If I had to choose only one food to eat for the rest of my life, Samyang 2x Spicy would probably be my answer without hesitation.

After all, people leave, but Samyang does not.

And unlike some people, Samyang never leave me even if i'm at my lowest.

2 Malaysian E-Sports Players That I Really Admire

 By Batrisyia

Gaming has become one of the fastest-growing industries in the world, and esports is now recognized as a professional career. Behind every successful esports player are years of dedication, hard work, and sacrifice.  Although I am not a professional gamer, I enjoy watching esports competitions, especially Valorant tournaments. Through watching the competitive scene, I have come across many talented players. There are two Malaysian players that I admire the most: d4v41 from Paper Rex and sekyss from Selangor Red Giants Esports.

d4v41

The first player I admire is d4v41 from Paper Rex. He is one of the most successful Malaysian Valorant players and has represented his team on some of the biggest international stages.

What I admire most about d4v41 is his determination and perseverance. Throughout his career, he has faced many challenges and difficult moments, yet he continues to work hard and improve himself. Despite the pressure of competing at the highest level, he remains dedicated to his team and his passion for esports.

His journey reminds me that success does not happen overnight. Behind every achievement are years of hard work, sacrifice, and commitment. Watching him compete inspires me to stay motivated and never give up on my own goals.

sekyss

The second player I admire is sekyss from Selangor Red Giants Esports. He is another talented Malaysian player who has achieved great success in the esports industry.

One of the reasons I admire sekyss is his confidence and professionalism. Competitive esports require players to perform under intense pressure while representing their team and supporters. Despite these challenges, he consistently demonstrates dedication and commitment to the game.

I also admire how he continues to contribute to the growth of Malaysian esports. His achievements show that Malaysian players are capable of competing at a high level and making a name for themselves internationally. This inspires many young fans to believe in their own potential and pursue their dreams.

In conclusion, d4v41 and sekyss are two Malaysian esports players that I truly admire. What inspires me most is not only their gameplay but also their hard work, discipline, and determination. Their journeys have shown that success requires patience, consistency, and the courage to overcome challenges.

As someone who enjoys watching esports, I will continue supporting both players and learning from their dedication. They are excellent examples of how passion and perseverance can lead to success.

In the end, both of these players serve as an inspiration to me. Their achievements at such a young age motivate me to work hard and strive for success in my own life.

My Favourite Steakhouse!

 by Amy

One of my favourite places to eat is a steakhouse in Keramat. I have been going there with my family since I was a child, and it is still one of my favourite restaurants today!

Whenever I visit, I always order the Breaded Chicken Chop. The chicken is crispy, and the black pepper sauce is delicious! It comes with coleslaw and baked beans, which make the meal even better. The coleslaw is creamy and refreshing, while the baked beans are full of flavour.

I also enjoy the Fish and Chips, which always crispy and tasty. Another menu item that I would highly recommend is the Mushroom Soup. It is served with garlic bread, and the combination is perfect. The taste has remained the same over the years, which is one of the reasons why I keep coming back.

Besides Western food, the restaurant also serves Asam Pedas. It is rich in flavour and definitely spicy, making it a great choice for anyone who enjoys spicy food! Overall, I would rate this restaurant a perfect 10/10! Not only because of the delicious food but also the memories attached to it. Every visit reminds me of my childhood and the many meals I have shared with my family there. If you ever have the chance to visit this steakhouse in Keramat, I highly recommend giving it a try. You might end up loving it as much as I do!

Address: No k4, medan selera Au 2 c, Taman Desa Keramat, 54200 Kuala Lumpur

Prom Queen - Beach Bunny

by Amy

Prom Queen - Beach Bunny

Prom Queen by Beach Bunny is another song that I enjoy because of its meaningful message. Unlike many songs that focus on romance, this song discusses self-esteem and the pressure to meet society’s beauty standards.

The lyrics describe the insecurities that many people experience when comparing themselves to others. Through honest and emotional storytelling, the song highlights how unrealistic expectations can affect a person’s confidence. This message makes the song relatable to many listeners, especially young people who may struggle with self-image.

What makes the song memorable is the contrast between its upbeat melody and its deeper meaning. While the music sounds energetic and catchy, the lyrics explore themes of insecurity and self-worth. This combination creates a unique listening experience and allows the message to leave a strong impact on listeners.

Prom Queen is a powerful song that encourages people to reflect on society’s expectations and appreciate themselves for who they are.

Rains in Heaven - Nct Dream

 by Amy

Rains in Heaven by Nct Dream

One of my favourite songs by Nct Dream is Rains in Heaven. Ever since the song was released, I have loved listening to it because of its beautiful melody and meaningful lyrics. The song has a calm and emotional atmosphere that makes it memorable and enjoyable to listen to.

What I like the most about this song is its deep and heartfelt lyrics. The message of the song focuses on emotions, comfort, and understanding, which makes it stand out from many other songs. The lyrics are written in a way that feels sincere and touching, allowing listeners to connect with the message.

Some of my favourite lyrics are “We are all the same, but hurt different,” “I heard when you cry, it rains in heaven,” and “I won’t let you fall down unless you’re in my arms.” These lines are especially meaningful to me because they express emotions in a simple yet powerful way. They remind listeners that everyone experiences pain differently and that having someone who understands and supports us can make a diffficult situation feel less overwhelming.

Besides the lyrics, the members vocal also play an important role in delivering the emotions of the song. Their voices match the mood of the song perfectly, making the message feel even more genuine and impactful.

Overall, Rains in Heaven is one of my favourite songs by Nct Dream because of its emotional melody, meaningful lyrics, and comforting message. It is a song that showcases the group’s ability to create music that is both beautiful and emotionally powerful. 💚

A Family Iftar to Remember

By Awliya

Last Ramadan, my big family and I attended an iftar gathering at AMD Resort and Camp in Kuala Nerang, Kedah. It was one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had during Ramadan because it is very rare for all of my family members to gather in one place. Usually, I only iftar with my immediate family and my grandmother. Therefore, I was very excited when I learned that our entire extended family would be spending the day together. I looked forward to creating beautiful memories with my loved ones while enjoying a special iftar event.

On that day, we left my grandmother's house in Pendang, Kedah after performing Friday prayers. We started our journey at around 2.30 p.m. and travelled together to the resort. The journey took almost two hours, but it felt much shorter because everyone was chatting happily throughout the trip. Some family members shared funny stories, while others talked about the food they wanted to try later. The cheerful atmosphere made the journey enjoyable and exciting.

At around 4.30 p.m., we finally arrived at AMD Resort and Camp. As soon as we entered the resort, I noticed that the staff were still busy making the final preparations for the iftar buffet. Tables and chairs were being arranged neatly, while some workers were preparing the food stations. Even though the preparations were not completely finished, the resort already looked beautiful and welcoming. The peaceful environment immediately made me feel relaxed and excited for the evening ahead.

One of the things that impressed me most was the natural beauty of the resort. The area was surrounded by many trees and greenery, creating a calm and refreshing atmosphere. There was also a shallow river flowing near the resort, making the place feel peaceful and relaxing. Several huts were built along the riverside, allowing visitors to sit and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The sound of flowing water and the cool breeze made the environment even more enjoyable.

While waiting for iftar, my younger cousins quickly ran towards the swimming pool and river area. The swimming pool had a water slide, which immediately became their favourite attraction. They spent a long time swimming, sliding and playing together. Some of them also enjoyed playing in the shallow river nearby. Their laughter could be heard throughout the resort, and it was heartwarming to see how much fun they were having.

Meanwhile, my grandmother, uncles and aunts spent their time resting in the rooms that we had rented. My family rented two rooms so that everyone could relax comfortably while waiting for iftar. Since I had already prepared myself earlier at my grandmother's house, I did not join the swimming activities. Instead, my cousin and I explored the resort while taking photographs together. The beautiful scenery provided many attractive spots for photography, and we enjoyed capturing memorable moments around the resort.

As we walked around the resort, we admired the beautiful surroundings and natural landscape. The riverside views, green trees and peaceful atmosphere made every corner look picture-perfect. My cousin and I spent quite a lot of time taking photos and enjoying the scenery. We laughed, chatted and simply enjoyed spending time together. It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon before the iftar session began.

At around 6.00 p.m., I noticed that the staff had started roasting a whole lamb. The delicious aroma quickly spread throughout the resort and attracted many guests. The sight of the lamb slowly roasting over the fire made it look incredibly appetising. Its golden-brown exterior and smoky fragrance immediately made me feel hungry. Many guests gathered around the station because roasted lamb was one of the most anticipated dishes of the evening.

Another unique feature that caught my attention was the beverage station. Instead of displaying the drinks on ordinary tables, the organisers placed them on top of an old van. The van was decorated beautifully and matched the overall theme of the event. I found the idea very creative and unique. It added a rustic and nostalgic touch to the entire dining experience.

The iftar buffet followed a classic traditional theme, which made the event even more special. The decorations reflected a nostalgic atmosphere that reminded guests of old-fashioned celebrations. Traditional snacks and desserts were arranged neatly using wooden trays, baskets and classic-style decorations. Everything looked elegant, simple and charming. The presentation made the buffet feel warm, welcoming and unique.

The dessert section immediately attracted my attention because it looked colourful and beautiful. There were cream puffs, chocolate cakes and vanilla cakes decorated neatly on serving trays. Traditional delicacies such as curry puffs, spring rolls and tepung pelita were also available. The arrangement of the desserts perfectly matched the classic theme of the event. Everything looked fresh, delicious and professionally presented.

Besides the desserts, there were many other delicious dishes available. One section offered fried noodles, which looked very appetising and smelled wonderful. There was also a special section prepared for children that included crackers and biscuits. The children were very excited about this area because they could enjoy their favourite snacks. It was thoughtful of the organisers to prepare something suitable for younger guests as well.

The main dishes were equally impressive and offered a wide variety of choices. There were dishes such as beef curry, ayam masak merah, ayam masak belado, spicy clams, crab, asam pedas and curry eggplant. The rich colours of the dishes made them look even more appetising. The aroma of spices and traditional herbs filled the air and made it difficult to resist trying everything. Every dish looked freshly prepared and full of flavour.

Another section that attracted many guests was the noodle station. Guests could choose from laksa, vermicelli, instant noodles and other noodle varieties. Curry and tom yum soup were available as soup bases, allowing guests to customise their meals according to their preferences. I tried several dishes from this station, and my favourite was definitely the laksa. The broth was rich, flavourful and incredibly satisfying after a long day of fasting.

At around 6.30 p.m., everyone who had been swimming and playing started getting ready for iftar. My cousins left the river and pool area to shower and change into clean clothes. Family members gradually gathered together while waiting for the Maghrib call to prayer. The excitement increased as the time for breaking the fast approached. Everyone was looking forward to enjoying the delicious buffet together.

Before iftar, I carefully selected the food that I wanted to eat. I chose rice with spicy clams, crab and curry eggplant because they were among my favourite dishes. I also made sure to get some roasted lamb because I had been waiting to try it. For dessert, I selected chocolate cake and tepung pelita. My father also brought some asam pedas to share with our family at the table.

One of the most memorable parts of the evening was the dining atmosphere. We had our meal under a large transparent tent that looked elegant and modern. The tent was clear, allowing us to see the sky above while enjoying our meal. Although the dining area was outdoors, it did not feel hot at all. The many trees surrounding the resort provided natural shade and cool air, making the environment extremely comfortable.

As the evening became darker, the atmosphere grew even more beautiful. Warm yellow lights decorated the tent and illuminated the entire dining area. The soft lighting created a cosy, relaxing and peaceful ambience. Since the tent was transparent, we could even see the stars shining in the night sky while eating and chatting with our family members. The combination of the cool breeze, beautiful lights and starry sky created a magical atmosphere that made the experience feel even more special.

Since our family was quite large, we occupied three tables during the meal.I sat with my cousins and my aunt's family, while my father sat with my grandmother and several other relatives. When the Maghrib call to prayer was heard, everyone began breaking their fast together. The food tasted amazing, and the atmosphere was warm and cheerful. We enjoyed eating, talking and laughing throughout the evening.

After finishing my meal, I explored another area of the resort that featured traditional decorations. The area was decorated with classic umbrellas and several traditional elements that suited the overall theme. There was also a congkak board available for visitors to play. My cousin and I decided to play congkak while waiting for the rest of our family members to finish eating. We had a great time, and I was happy because I managed to win the game.

After we finished playing congkak, the rest of our family had also completed their meals. We then gathered in front of the house that we had rented earlier. At that moment, we recorded a Hari Raya greeting video together. Although it was still early in Ramadan, we wanted to take the opportunity to create special memories while everyone was present. The recording session was enjoyable and filled with laughter.

After recording the video, we took family photographs together. Opportunities like this are very rare because it is difficult to gather every family member in one place. Therefore, we wanted to make the most of the occasion. Everyone stood together and smiled happily for the camera. The photo session was filled with joy, laughter and unforgettable memories.

Eventually, it was time for us to return home. We packed our belongings and prepared to leave the resort after spending many wonderful hours there. Although everyone was tired after a long day of activities, we were all happy and satisfied. During the journey home, many family members continued talking about the fun memories we had created together. The experience left everyone with smiles on their faces.

Overall, this iftar gathering at AMD Resort and Camp was one of the best Ramadan experiences I have ever had. I enjoyed the beautiful scenery, the delicious food, the relaxing atmosphere and the many fun activities that took place throughout the day. Most importantly, I was able to spend meaningful time with my entire family, something that rarely happens. Seeing the children having fun, the adults enjoying themselves and everyone sharing laughter together made the experience truly unforgettable. If I had the opportunity to experience it again, I would definitely join without hesitation. In my opinion, this iftar gathering deserves more than one hundred percent because it brought happiness to every member of my family and created memories that I will cherish forever.

Songs That Remind Me Of Someone

Songs That Remind Me of Someone

By Batrisyia

Music has always been more than just music to me. Whenever I hear certain songs, I do not just remember the lyrics or the melody. I remember people, memories, and moments that once meant something to me.

Some songs remind me of friendships, while others remind me of people who were only meant to stay for a chapter of my life.

These are a few songs that I can never listen to without thinking of someone.

🎵 Heaven — Bryan Adams

Whenever I hear this song, I think about the feeling of having someone who makes everything seem easier.

The song feels warm, comforting, and nostalgic. It reminds me of the kind of memories that make you smile before realizing they belong to the past.

“Baby, you’re all that I want…”

Sometimes a song is not painful because it is sad.

Sometimes it is painful because it reminds you of how happy you once were.

🎵 Iris — The Goo Goo Dolls

This song reminds me of vulnerability.

Of caring about someone so much that you want them to understand every part of who you are.

Even years after its release, the emotions in this song still feel incredibly raw and honest.

“And I’d give up forever to touch you…”

There are some songs that do not age because emotions never do.

🎵 Ingat — Alyph

Out of every song on this list, this one probably affected me the most.

Not only does it remind me of memories and people, but it also inspired me to write an entire short film script for one of my assignments.

Every time I hear it, I think about nostalgia, missed opportunities, and the people who once played an important role in my life.

Some songs do not just remind us of someone.

They remind us of a version of ourselves that no longer exists.

🎵 Nervous — The Neighbourhood

This song reminds me of the excitement and anxiety that come with liking someone.

The overthinking.

The anticipation.

The feeling of wanting to talk to someone while simultaneously being terrified of saying the wrong thing.

It captures that nervous energy perfectly.

🎵 Midnight Rain — Taylor Swift

This song feels different from the others.

To me, it is not really about heartbreak.

It is about realizing that two people can care about each other and still end up taking different paths in life.

Sometimes nobody is the villain.

Sometimes things simply do not work out the way we hoped.

And perhaps that is one of the hardest things to accept.

In the end, I think that is why I love music so much. Songs have a strange way of preserving memories.

People change.

Life moves on.

Relationships begin and end.

But somehow, a three-minute song can bring everything back for a moment.

Maybe that is why some songs are impossible to skip.

Not because of the music itself.

But because of the people we remember when we hear them.

Love,

Batriyia

How One Song Inspired Me to Write a Short Film Script

How One Song Inspired Me to Write a Short Film Script

By Batrisyia

Last semester, I had to write a script for a short film assignment. At first, I honestly had no idea what story I wanted to create because I did not want my script to feel too cliché or unrealistic. Then, while listening to Ingat, I suddenly started imagining scenes in my head.

The emotions in the song somehow matched a situation I once experienced myself, so I decided to create a story inspired by those feelings. Of course, I changed some parts of the story, but the emotions behind it were still real.

The story follows a music composer named Zaf and his longtime friend, Elina. I wanted their relationship to feel natural and realistic instead of overly dramatic. That is why most of the dialogue sounds casual, because I wanted audiences to feel like they were watching real people instead of fictional characters.

One of my favorite scenes was the bubble balloon scene at the park because it represented nostalgia and happiness before everything changed. I also liked how the “L sign” became a symbol between the two characters throughout the story.

Even though the script was inspired by personal emotions, writing it was actually fun because it allowed me to turn feelings into a story. Some scenes were difficult to write because they felt too real, especially the ending scene where Zaf meets Elina again after many years.

Unfortunately, my script was not selected. At first, I felt disappointed because I had put a lot of effort and emotion into writing it. However, after rereading the script again, I realized I was still proud of myself for creating something meaningful to me.

Sometimes, not every piece of work we create will be chosen or appreciated immediately. But I think what matters most is the fact that we had the courage to create something honest in the first place. Even though my script was never selected, it will always remain one of the most personal things I have ever written.

And to that one guy .... thank you for breaking my heart. Without realizing it, you gave me a story to write, a script to complete, and enough inspiration to finish my assignment. Things did not work out the way I once hoped, but at least something good came out of it.

You got a new chapter. I got good carry mark. I guess we both won. Lol

13 Reasons Why You Need Amy and Yaya in Your Uni Life

13 Reasons Why You Need Amy and Yaya in Your Uni Life

By Batrisyia

University life is already stressful enough. Assignments pile up every week, sleep schedules become terrible, and somehow students always end up questioning their life choices at 3 A.M. But honestly, I think uni becomes a lot easier when you find the right people.

For me, those people are Puteri Amylia Nadia and Awliya' Humaira or as everyone knows them, Amy and Yaya.

We started off as classmates but somehow ended up becoming a trio that does almost everything together. I actually knew Yaya since primary school, but we drifted apart during high school. Funny enough, university brought us back together again. As for Amy, she was one of the first people I became close with in class, and somehow the friendship just naturally happened.

And honestly? I think everyone deserves friends like them in university.

1. They make boring days feel less boring

Even the most random days become memorable when I’m with them. Going to class, buying food, doing assignments, or simply sitting together somehow always turns into chaos and laughter.

2. Amy is literally the definition of “chalant”

People always joke about being nonchalant nowadays, but Amy is the complete opposite. She cares A LOT. She’s loud, expressive, goofy, and somehow always manages to make people laugh even when she’s not trying. She’s also super clumsy, which honestly makes everything funnier.

3. Yaya is the mother of the group

Every trio needs someone responsible, and that person is definitely Yaya. She has that strong eldest daughter energy in her. She’s mature, hardworking, caring, and somehow always knows what to do during stressful situations.

4. We survived university burnout together

Semester 5 was honestly exhausting for all of us. There were moments where stress became too overwhelming until we literally cried together.

Looking back now, it sounds funny, but I think moments like that made our friendship stronger because we understood each other during our worst moments too.

5. Getting chased by dogs together creates unforgettable memories

One thing about our trio is that chaos somehow follows us everywhere. I still cannot forget that one moment during Semester 2 when we were peacefully walking to class together before suddenly getting chased by a dog out of nowhere. It was terrifying for like five seconds but hilarious after that. Honestly, I think that moment alone deserves to be archived in university history.

6. They are genuinely happy for my achievements

One thing I appreciate the most is how supportive they are. Some people secretly compete with their friends, but Amy and Yaya never made me feel that way. When something good happens to me, they celebrate it with me sincerely, and I think that kind of friendship is rare nowadays.

7. They are caring in ways people don’t always notice

Amy may act goofy and loud most of the time, but she’s actually very sensitive and soft-hearted. I can tell she genuinely cares about the people around her. Yaya, on the other hand, shows her care through actions. She helps people, shares knowledge, and never acts selfish when it comes to academics.

8. They are smart but never arrogant

Both of them are genuinely intelligent people, but they never make others feel stupid. In university, finding friends who willingly help you without making you feel embarrassed is honestly a blessing.

9. They make university feel safe

University can sometimes feel lonely and overwhelming, especially when everyone is busy surviving their own problems. But having people you can rely on makes everything feel less scary.

10. They accepted me as I am

I never had to pretend to be someone else around them. They know the loud version of me, the tired version of me, the stressed version of me, and still stayed.

11. We basically do everything together

At this point, if people see one of us alone, they probably get shocked. We eat together, attend class together, stress over assignments together, and somehow survive university life together too.

12. They remind me that good friendships still exist

Nowadays, genuine friendships are honestly hard to find. Some people only come when they need something, but Amy and Yaya stayed through both good and difficult moments. That’s something I’ll always appreciate about them.

13. University would not feel the same without them

When I think about my university life, I realize most of my favorite memories involve them somehow. And honestly, I think the scariest part about friendship is knowing that one day people might drift apart. That’s why I appreciate every moment with them now, even the smallest ones. Amy and Yaya are more than just classmates or friends to me. They became part of my university experience, and I genuinely cannot imagine surviving uni without them.

So, if you ever find friends who laugh with you, cry with you, support you, and stay during difficult times too please keep them. They are rare. After all, I think everyone needs Amy and Yaya in their life ... just not my Amy and Yaya. Hehe

Xoxo, your coolest bestie ever,

A Plate of Bumbu Babah

By Awliya

I discovered Bumbu Babah through the many viral food videos on TikTok. At first, I was simply curious because so many people were sharing their experiences and recommending the restaurant. Coincidentally, while my family and I were in Johor Bahru, my dad suggested that we try it. Since I had never eaten nasi padang before, I was excited to see what the hype was all about.

My first nasi padang experience was at Bumbu Babah, Setia Tropika, Johor Bahru. Honestly, I was surprised from the very first bite. I had never tasted a combination of flavours that worked so perfectly together. Their nasi padang set comes with rice, vegetables, half a boiled egg, green sambal, red sambal, and a rich  curry . As someone who loves curry  dishes, this meal was exactly what I enjoy. That was the moment I fell in love with nasi padang. What makes the meal even more special is how every component on the plate complements one another. The green sambal  adds a fresh spicy kick, while the red sambal provides a balance of sweetness and heat. When everything is mixed together with the rice and curry, the flavours become incredibly satisfying and addictive.

Even though there are many nasi padang restaurants in Malaysia, I have yet to find one that gives me the same experience as Bumbu Babah. Every time I think about it, I start craving it again. It has easily become one of my comfort foods. Since Bumbu Babah has several branches across Malaysia, I do not have to wait until I visit Johor Bahru to enjoy it. Whenever I am craving nasi padang, I simply look for the nearest Bumbu Babah branch to my current location. If I am in the mood for nasi padang, Bumbu Babah is always the first place that comes to mind. Sometimes, I already know exactly what I want to order before I even arrive at the restaurant. To me, food that constantly makes you want to come back for more is truly something special, and Bumbu Babah has done exactly that since my very first visit.

I am actually not someone who eats a lot. Most of the time, I only eat half to one scoop of rice and often leave food unfinished. However, whenever I eat at Bumbu Babah, I almost always finish my entire meal. There is something about the flavours that keeps me wanting another bite. I would even describe it as addictive because every mouthful makes me look forward to the next one. It is honestly difficult for me to fully describe how good the food is through words alone. No matter how much I write about it, I feel like it still would not do the food justice. You really have to try it yourself to understand what I mean.

The menu that I order every single time is Dendeng Batokok. I usually add beef tendon curry, and sometimes I also add  Balado Eggplant. The beef in the Dendeng Batokok is incredibly tender and easy to eat. The portion size is also reasonable since the meat is weighed by grams. As for the Eggplant Balado, the eggplant is soft and perfectly cooked, while the sambal has the ideal combination of spicy and sweet flavours. It is truly a perfect combination. The beef tendon curry t is another dish that I highly recommend because the gravy is thick, rich, and packed with flavour. When eaten with warm rice, it creates a meal that is both comforting and satisfying. To this day, Dendeng Batokok, Beef tendon curry and Balado Eggplant remain my go-to order whenever I visit Bumbu Babah.

One unique thing about Bumbu Babah is that they do not offer a wide variety of drinks like most restaurants. Instead, they only provide canned drinks and bottled mineral water. However, customers can request ice if they want. Ordering food is also very straightforward. Customers simply queue up, choose their dishes, receive their food immediately, and pay at the counter. Even though the concept is simple, the service is quick and efficient, so there is usually very little waiting time.

In terms of pricing, I believe the food is reasonably priced considering its quality and taste. Prices start from around RM7.50 for a nasi padang set with fried eggplant for members.A more complete meal, such as nasi padang with Beef tendon curry, fried catfish, and Crispy Chicken, can cost around RM19.80. For non-members, prices usually range from approximately RM8.35 to RM22.00 depending on the selected dishes. Considering the portions, flavours, and quality of the food, I personally think the prices are worth it.

My family has a membership account registered under my mother’s phone number because we eat at Bumbu Babah quite often. Through the membership programme, we are able to collect points and enjoy discounts on our purchases. When dining as a family, the savings can add up and make a noticeable difference. Although the discount may not seem huge at first, it is still a great benefit for regular customers. Over time, the collected points can also be redeemed for additional rewards.

Overall, Bumbu Babah is one of my favourite foods at the moment, and it is a place that I will continue to revisit. Even if I eat it every week, I never get bored because every meal feels just as enjoyable as the first time I tried it. The combination of spices, sambals, curry , and flavourful side dishes always leaves me wanting more. For me, Bumbu Babah is more than just a restaurant. It is the place that introduced me to the world of nasi padang and made me fall in love with it from the very first bite. If you ever have the chance to try Bumbu Babah, I highly recommend it. Whether you are already a nasi padang lover or someone trying it for the first time, Bumbu Babah is definitely worth a visit.

Vincenzo

by Amy

I enjoy watching Korean drama, and one of my favourites is Vincenzo. This drama was released in 2021 and stars Song Joongki, Jeon Yeobeen, and Ok Taecyeon. What makes Vincenzo different from other dramas is its unique combination of action, comedy, crime, and suspense. From the first episode, I was interested in the story and wanted to know what would happen next.

Song Jongki as Vincenzo Cassano

Jeon Yeobeen as Hong Chayoung

Ok Taecyeon as Jang Junwoo

The story follows Vincenzo Cassano, a Korean man who was adopted by an Italian family and later became a mafia lawyer. After returning to South Korea, he becomes involved in a conflict with Babel Group, a powerful and corrupt company. Together with lawyer Hong Chayoung and the residents of Geumga Plaza, Vincenzo fights against injustice using his intelligence and strategic plans.

One of the reasons I like Vincenzo is its storyline. Every episode contains unexpected plot twist that make the drama exciting to watch. I also enjoy how the drama balances serious action scene with comedy. Even during intense moments, there are funny scenes that make viewers laugh.

Another reason is the characters. Each character has a unique personality and plays an important role in story. The chemistry between Vincenzo and Hong Chayoung also makes the drama more enjoyable to watch.

My favourite scene was when Vincenzo confronted Jang Junwoo and his associates after they were responsible for his mother’s death. This scene was very emotional because Vincenzo had always remained calm and collected, but after losing his mother, viewers could clearly see his anger and sadness.

I really enjoyed this scene because it showed a different side of Vincenzo’s character. The acting was powerful, and the emotions felt very real. It was one of the most memorable scenes in the drama and made me even more invested in the story.

Rating:
1. Storyline: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
2. Characters: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
3. Comedy: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
4. Action: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
5. Overall: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Vincenzo is one of the best Korean dramas I have watched. The combination of action, comedy, suspense, and memorable characters makes it a very entertaining series. The interesting storyline and emotional moments kept me engaged from beginning to end, which is why Vincenzo remains one of my favourite Korean dramas.

Things That Make Me Happy!

 by Amy

Everyone has different things that make them happy. For me, happiness comes from simple moments, people, and activities that make my life feel more meaningful. Here are few things that make me happy!

Concerts are the thing that makes me the happiest. My first time seeing Nct Dream was at Seen Festival in Malaysia. As someone who had been a fan for years, I never expect that I would finally get the chance to see them in person. At that time, they performed as five members, and it was an unforgettable experience for me.

When Nct Dream announced another concert in Malaysia, I was extremely excited. I started saving money to buy a lightstick and prepare for the concert. For me, concerts are not just about music, but also about creating memories that I will always remember forever.

Music is also one of the things that makes me happy, especially R&B songs. I enjoy listening to artists like Nct Dream, with songs such as Teddy Bear, Never Goodbye, and Rains in Heaven. I also like Bruno Mars, especially songs like Versace on the Floor and If I knew.

Music helps me relax, calm my mind, enjoy my free time. It also makes my daily life feel more meaningful.

Spending time with my family is something that I really appreciate. I enjoy going out with them, no matter how far the place is. As long as I am with my family, it already means a lot to me. These simple moments together always make me happy and grateful.

Photography is something that I love because of my father. He is videographer, and when I was young, I used to follow him to work and watch him hold his camera. That is how my interest in photography started.

I hope that one day, I will be able to become like him and continue doing what he does. Taking photos and capturing moments feels special to me because it connects me to my memories and inspirations.

Concerts, music, family, and photography are the things that make me happy! ❤. Each of them has a special meaning in my life and helps shape who I am today. Thats it thank yewww 😚😚
