My Weekly Commitment to ZUS Coffee

 By Awliya

One of my current weekly commitments to myself is buying ZUS Coffee at least once a week. It may sound simple, but somehow it became one of the little things that I always look forward to after a stressful or tiring week. The first drink I ever tried from ZUS was their Double Chocolate Chip Frappe because at that time many people were boycotting Starbucks, and honestly, I really loved Starbucks chocolate chip drinks before this. Since I was craving something similar, I decided to give ZUS a try, and surprisingly, I ended up liking it more than I expected.

Right now, my favourite drinks from ZUS are definitely the Buttercreme Latte and Matcha Latte. Whenever I feel stressed or emotionally tired, matcha is always my comfort drink because I genuinely love matcha so much. For me personally, the matcha from ZUS Coffee still cannot be beaten by other brands like Tealive or CHAGEE. The taste feels richer, smoother, and more satisfying compared to many other matcha drinks I have tried before.

Another reason why I love ZUS so much is because their drink quality feels consistent even when I buy from different branches. Most of the drinks I order still taste the same no matter which outlet I visit, and I think that consistency is something very important for a coffee brand. Besides that, I already collected more than 500 points on the ZUS app because I buy it so often. I honestly think the prices are still affordable for students who want to reward themselves once in a while because most of their food and drinks are below RM20.

I also love how practical yet aesthetic their cups look. Every time I buy ZUS, I somehow feel like taking aesthetic pictures of the drinks because the design gives very Pinterest vibes. The logo itself is minimalist, chic, and simple, but still looks modern and attractive. Sometimes even holding the cup makes me feel like a Pinterest girl for a moment, especially when taking mirror selfies or café pictures.

Besides drinks, I also really enjoy their food, especially the lasagna. The first time I tried it was honestly very random because I suddenly felt curious while visiting the ZUS outlet near my house. Surprisingly, it tasted much better than I expected. The cheese and bolognese meat blended really well together, making the lasagna taste creamy, savory, and comforting at the same time. Even though the portion looks thin, it is actually very filling for someone like me who does not eat a lot. Usually, it can keep me full until the evening, which makes it feel worth buying.

Another food item that I enjoy is their meatballs with mashed potatoes. For me, it gives the same comforting feeling as eating IKEA meatballs, but in a healthier version because the taste is not too salty and feels lighter. The portion is also just nice for my appetite, not too much and not too little. Overall, I think the food at ZUS matches my taste preferences very well because it feels comforting, affordable, aesthetic, and suitable for my lifestyle as a student.

At this point, ZUS Coffee is honestly more than just a coffee brand to me. It became part of my weekly routine, my little self-reward after classes, and one of the small things that can instantly improve my mood after a long day.

Sometimes people think coffee is just a drink, but for me, it became part of my small happiness during busy student life. Even on stressful days, buying ZUS somehow makes me feel a little better and more motivated. It may look like a simple weekly habit, but I think everyone deserves a small reward for surviving another tiring week. For me, that little reward just happens to be a cup of ZUS.
