On 23 April 2026, I attend the Dean’s Award Ceremony and Hari Raya celebration at UNISEL Bestari Jaya. This event is a meaningful and memorable experience for me as I celebrate my academic achievement together with my friends.
Upon arriving at Dewan Canselori, my friends and I feel slightly shy as there are many students present. We proceed to register our attendance, receive our table numbers, and scan a QR code for the lucky draw. We are also given a tote bag as a gift. After that, we enjoy a simple breakfast provided at the venue.
When we enter the hall to find our seats, we face a small issue as our assigned seats are already taken by other students. With the help of our lecturer, Sir Faizul, we manage to understand the situation. Although we feel slightly frustrated, we decide to sit at another table and continue enjoying the event.
The ceremony officially begins at 9:15 a.m. with an opening speech, followed by a prayer and the singing of the national anthem, the Selangor state song, and the UNISEL song. We then listen to a speech from the faculty and watch a montage prepared by students. There is also a dance performance that adds excitement to the event.
At 9:55 a.m., the Dean’s Award presentation begins. My friends and I line up to receive our certificates. While waiting, we feel nervous and anxious, but we also laugh together to ease the tension. When my name is called, I walk up to the stage and receive my certificate with a strong sense of pride and accomplishment.
After the award session, I watch a live band performance by students, which I truly enjoy. Later, we queue for food, and although the line is quite crowded, we manage to get our meals. While eating, the lucky draw takes place, and I hope to win, but my name is not selected. Nevertheless, I still enjoy the moment with my friends.
In the afternoon, we take photos together to capture the memories of this special day. My friends look beautiful, and we also take pictures with our lecturers, Sir Hasni and Sir Faiz. I enjoy watching the performances, including a singing performance by Sir Faiz, which makes the event even more lively and enjoyable.
Overall, this event is a very meaningful experience for me. It is not only about receiving the Dean’s Award but also about celebrating together with friends and appreciating the journey that leads to this achievement.
